Two more guys added to my “Guys That Suck” list, although I have to admit that I might (just might) be jumping the gun on Frank Schleck. I’ve normally avoided adding names to the list until they actually test positive for doping or admit to it. In the case of Schleck, however, his payments to Dr. Fuentes are strongly suggestive that something fishy is going on. If CSC can suspend him pending resolution of the investigation, I can add him to my list – with the obligatory question mark.
Leonardo Piepoli also testing positive for CERA – no surprise there. He already made my list for his confession during the Tour de France after his butthead punk teammate Ricardo Ricco got busted. His subsequent retraction was nothing more than the first step in his shirking, dispicable stategy of legal manuevers designed to avoid responsibility for being a lying cheater. Oh, and speaking of butthead – more positive results for him from the Tour, also. What a punk.
Stefan Schumacher leads the “Hah, gotcha!” rant for today. I’ve never liked this guy and have already said so. When he won the first TT in the Tour I thought “doper!” When he won the second one I thought “DOPER!” The best part was reading Sebastian Lang talking about how everyone on Gerolsteiner was happy when the test for CERA was announced at the start of the Tour – everyone except Schumaker, that is. He became quiet and withdrawn, to the point that his teammates asked him pointedly if there was a problem. He said no, which was a lie – just like the lie he committed the two times he accepted a trophy for his chemical-induced wins. The Gerolsteiner team owner is suing – good for him. I think they should have a new awards ceremony for the races he fraudulently ‘won’ for the real winner, and that he should be required to attend – at his own expense – to publicly hand over the winner’s trophy. Stefan – you crashed out George to win Eneco in shameful fashion, and you blamed everyone but yourself when you crashed in the yellow jersey in this years Tour. I’m glad you tested positive – you suck, and welcome to my list.
